Dental implants

What affects the cost of dental implants?

Everyone asks about price first, and that is fair. The honest answer is that cost depends on your case, so here is what actually moves it.

Why we do not quote a number here

You will find dollar figures for implants all over the internet. Most of them are averages, and an average tells you very little about your mouth. Implant treatment is planned one patient at a time, so we give you a written estimate after an exam and scans, when we know what you need.

What drives the cost

  • Number of implants. Replacing one tooth is a different plan than replacing several or a full arch.
  • Bone grafting. If the bone needs to be built up before an implant, that is an added step.
  • Type of restoration. A single crown, a bridge on implants and a full set of teeth on implants are all different treatments.
  • Preparation. A tooth that needs to be removed, or gum disease that needs treatment first, can add to the plan.
  • Imaging. The scans we need to plan your treatment are part of the plan.
  • Insurance. Some plans help with parts of implant treatment, such as the crown or the extraction. Benefits vary a lot by plan.

Why cheaper is not always simpler

An implant is surgery followed by a restoration that you will use every day, so the planning and skill behind it matter. Dr. GiTae Kwon is an implant surgeon who teaches implant surgery to other dentists. When you compare quotes, compare what is included, not only the total.

Ways to make treatment more manageable

Our insurance and financing page lists everything we offer. In short:

  • We check your insurance benefits before your visit and give you a written estimate before treatment.
  • Cherry payment plans are available at all three offices, with 0% financing for 12 to 18 months for qualified applicants.
  • New patients at all three offices can start with a complimentary consultation.

Offers and eligibility are confirmed by the office, so please call to check what applies to you.

Why fixing one tooth now can matter

A missing tooth does not always stay a small problem. Neighboring teeth can drift, the opposite tooth can move out of place, and the bone where the tooth was can slowly shrink. Planning sooner can keep options simpler, which is one more reason to get an exam rather than guess from a number online.

Questions to ask any dentist about implant cost

Whoever you choose, a few questions help you compare fairly. Ask what the estimate includes: the scans, the surgery, the abutment, the crown and any follow-up visits. Ask whether bone grafting or extractions are part of it. Ask who places the implant and what their training is. And ask what happens if something needs adjusting later.

A clear, written answer to each of these tells you more than a single total ever could. We are glad to walk through them with you at a consultation, and there is no pressure to decide that day.

Where to start

Start with a consultation. We will look at your teeth and scans, explain your options, and give you a written estimate so there are no surprises. You can read about the different types on our dental implants page, or look at single tooth implants if you are missing one tooth.
